Investigations Continue on Local Burglaries

Between the dates and times of February 21st at 10:00 p.m., and February 22nd at 6:30 a.m., the Harold and Ona Ingalls’ residence in Lake Andes was burglarized while they were asleep in the residence. Entry into the residence was accomplished by breaking a window into the garage. A model 3100 Sentry- Fire safe which contained cash, jewelry and personal paperwork was stolen from the residence. The burglary remains under investigation by the Charles Mix County Sheriff’s Office.

Between the dates and times of March 19th at 11:00 p.m., and March 20th at 5:30 a.m., the Red Allen residence in Lake Andes was burglarized while he was asleep in the residence. Entry into the residence was accomplished by breaking a basement window. Mr. Allen’s wallet which contained cash, checks and credit cards and a jewelry box containing jewelry was stolen from the residence. The burglary remains under investigation by the Charles Mix County Sheriff’s Office.

On March 28th between the hours of 9:00 p.m., and 11:00 p.m., the Robert Stock residence was burglarized. Mr. Stock was not at the residence at the time of the burglary. Entry into the residence was accomplished by breaking a garage window. A 4-wheeler and three televisions were stolen from the residence. The 4-wheeler was discovered after it was wrecked on County Road 11, two miles north of Wagner. The burglary remains under investigation by the Charles Mix County Sheriff’s Office and Wagner Police Department.

On March 15th, 2012 at 10:18 p.m., an unknown male wearing a black or dark blue hooded sweatshirt and a bandana covering his face entered the Weiser’s Convenience Store located along SD Hwy 46 in Wagner, and displayed a .22 automatic pistol demanding money from the store clerk. The store clerk refused the suspect’s demands causing the suspect to flee out of the store. The attempted robbery remains under investigation by the Wagner Police Department, the Charles Mix County Sheriff’s Office and the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation. Sheriff Randy Thaler encourages anyone with any information regarding this crime to contact the Charles Mix County Sheriff’s Office.

Sometime during the early morning hours of March 27th, the Wagner Early Childhood facility was burglarized. Entry to the facility was accomplished by breaking a window. Computers and other miscellaneous items were stolen. Investigation continues by the Wagner Police Department and the Charles Mix County Sheriff’s Office.
