Shooting Near Marty Leaves One Dead, One Injured

Law enforcement were dispatched at approximately 12:58 a.m., on November 27th to the home of Frank Fischer Sr., near Marty on the Yankton Sioux Indian Reservation. When law enforcement arrived on the scene they found Tony Fischer Sr., 47, who was pronounced dead at the scene with a gunshot wound to his head and his son, Dominic Fischer who was also shot remains in critical condition at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Dancing Bull Fischer, 23, the suspected shooter was arrested later Tuesday morning after leaving the scene. He is charged with one count of second-degree murder for shooting and killing his uncle. He made his first court appearance in federal court Wednesday morning where he was accused of murdering Tony Fischer Sr with an assault rifle. He is also accused of critically injuring his cousin, Dominic Fischer.

Dancing Bull Fischer was given a court-appointed attorney in court Wednesday and remains in custody.
